Product focus: Styccobond F41
We put F. Ball’s popular carpet tile tackifier in the spotlight.
What is it?
F. Ball’s popular carpet tile tackifier is a solvent-free acrylic adhesive, which creates a permanently tacky film to prevent ‘loose-lay’ carpet tiles from moving laterally when subject to normal traffic, while allowing individual tiles to be easily removed and replaced if they become damaged or worn.
Where is it used?
Styccobond F41 can be used for securing a wide range of dimensionally stable ‘flat lay’ carpet tiles backed with bitumen/felt, non-woven fabric, PVC and other polymer backings.
It can be applied over Stopgap smoothing underlayments, Stopgap waterproof surface membranes and a wide range of absorbent and non-absorbent subfloors, including structurally sound, smooth and dry concrete, sand/cement screed, plywood, raised access flooring panels and terrazzo.
It’s ideal for use where carpet tiles may become worn, damaged or stained – in offices with chairs on castors or busy walkways, for example. It is also approved for use in marine flooring installations and is suitable for use over normal under floor heating systems.
Something you might not know about this product:
Styccobond F41 is certified EMICODE EC1 Plus – testament to its ultra-low VOC (Volatile Organic Compounds) emissions. This makes it ideal for use in areas that need to remain in-use while floorcoverings are being installed.
