Apprentice Quality Control Technician
Job Description:
Located in Leek, Staffordshire, F. Ball and Co. Ltd. is the UK’s market leading manufacturer of flooring adhesives and floor preparation products and is a recognised leading brand within the contract flooring industry.
We have an exciting opportunity for an Apprentice Quality Control Technician. Reporting to the Quality Control Manager, this role will support all aspects of the Quality Control Department.
This is a full-time role consisting of 37.5 hours per week
Monday to Thursday 07:00 – 16:00, Friday 07:00 – 10:30.
Key Responsibilities:
• Ensure safety at all times
o Undertake Health and Safety training
o Work to Standard Operating Procedures and Safe Systems of Work
o Ensure the working environment is kept clean and tidy; with samples, chemicals, etc. correctly labelled and stored
• Test packaged and bulk materials against relevant specifications
• Test finished product against relevant specifications
• Liaise with production personnel of any adjustments to batches
• Advise QC Manager of batches that do not meet specification
• Update QC records accurately and ensure they are saved securely
• Advise on stock replenishment requirements in the laboratory
• Examine returned goods and advise on treatment
• Undertake additional duties as may be reasonably required
Apprenticeship Responsibilities and Activities:
• Undertake Level 3 Laboratory Technician Apprenticeship. This will involve at least 20% of total working time off the job to complete studies
• Engage in on-site training opportunities as required
• Participate in school’s liaison activities and careers events as required
