Product Focus: Stopgap 500 Micro

For this month’s Product Focus, we take a closer look at F. Ball’s rapid-drying floor finishing compound.

What is it?

Stopgap 500 Micro is a fast setting, rapid-drying floor finishing compound, which can be used to create a smooth surface over plywood joints, existing floor smoothing compounds, sand/cement and calcium sulphate screeds and other rigid, dry absorbent surfaces prior to the installation of new floorcoverings.

Where is it used?

Stopgap 500 Micro can be used in light to medium traffic areas where a perfectly smooth floor finish is required, something that is especially desirable where thin, resilient floorcoverings will be installed. It is particularly useful for filling joints between plywood panels and is designed for micro-coat application to create a feathered edge. It is also protein-free, making it suitable for use in biologically sensitive areas, such as hospitals and laboratories.

What’s different about it?

Applied at a thickness of less than 1mm, Stopgap 500 will be sufficiently dry to allow installation of floorcoverings after 25 minutes.

Stopgap 500 Micro is supplied in in 8kg ‘eco pouches’, which are fully recyclable.
