Product Focus: Stopgap 700
We put F. Ball’s fast-drying, self-levelling, fibre-reinforced levelling compound in the spotlight.
What is it?
Stopgap 700 is a fast-drying, self-levelling, fibre-reinforced levelling compound suitable for application over flexible subfloors prior to the installation of new floorcoverings.
Where is it used?
Preformed subfloors, such as plywood or stainless steel, including raised access panels, which flex or expands and contracts slightly when subjected to normal foot traffic and temperature changes. Specialist levelling compounds, which are better able to accommodate these movements, have been developed for creating a suitable base for the receipt of floorcoverings when working over these kinds of subfloor.
What’s different about it?
Stopgap 700 is reinforced with tiny fibres that maintain the integrity of the levelling compound and prevent cracks from forming as a result of subfloor movement. These act like steel rods in reinforced concrete, ensuring that the installation retains its strength despite these stresses.
Something you might not know about the product:
Stopgap 700 is walk-on hard after just 60 minutes. The product uses fast-drying technology, allowing resilient floorcoverings to be installed from as little as three hours after application.
