New Extended Use Stopgap 300
F. Ball and Co. Ltd. has extended the use of its popular Stopgap 300 heavy-duty smoothing compound so that it can also now be used as a standalone wearing surface where such surface finishes are required.
Stopgap 300 offers a high compressive strength making it suitable for creating a perfectly smooth base when installing floorcoverings in areas that will be subject to high traffic and heavy loads. It can now also be used as a standalone wearing surface where floorcoverings are not required, making it perfect for upgrading and renovating new and existing floors in a wide range of environments including heavy-duty industrial applications, where forklift trucks are in operation.
Stopgap 300 is suitable for use over a wide range of subfloor types, including sand/cement screed, concrete, calcium sulphate (e.g. anhydrite), sound asphalt, granolithic, terrazzo, epoxy and polyurethane resins, ceramic and quarry tiles and Stopgap waterproof surface membranes.
It has excellent self-levelling properties and can be pump-applied up to 1500m2 per day, dependent upon manpower, thickness applied and equipment used. Its protein-free formulation allows it to be used in biologically sensitive areas such as hospitals. It is also low odour, meaning it can be used while nearby areas remain in-use and open to the public.
Commenting on the development, F. Ball’s sales director, Karl Brannigan, said: “We’re always looking to apply the latest advancements in technology to help flooring contractors to work to ever-higher standards, including enhancing existing products to make them more versatile. This is a great example of this, meaning that the same product can be used for multiple applications.”
Stopgap 300 is sold in units of 25kg, which will cover approximately 5m2 at a thickness of 3mm when mixed with water.
