STOPGAP 1200 is a high performance smoothing compound, designed for fast and efficient preparation of sound internal subfloors before the installation of new floorcoverings. This low odour, two-component compound sets and dries quickly, making it ideal for time-sensitive projects. It has a rapid walk-on-hard time from just 60 minutes and allows floorcoverings to be laid from 4 hours, allowing projects to be completed with minimal downtime.
It effectively works over old adhesive residues, including bitumen and carpet tile tackifiers, without the need for priming. You can use this high performance smoothing compound for patch filling timber floors prior to overlaying with plywood. It is also suitable for use in clinical and biologically sensitive areas such as hospitals, laboratories, and clean rooms.
STOPGAP 1200’s moisture-resistant properties make it suitable for application over damp, clean and uneven concrete and cement screeds prior to the application of STOPGAP Waterproof Surface Membranes or STOPGAP Isolator Membrane.
When mixed with our STOPGAP 1200 Liquid, STOPGAP 1200 meets the standards of the IMO which makes it suitable for use in marine flooring applications.

STOPGAP 1200 AREAS OF USE
STOPGAP 1200 high performance smoothing compound is suitable for use over a wide range of subfloor types including STOPGAP waterproof surface membranes, sand/cement screeds, concrete, granolithic, terrazzo, asphalt, steel, old vinyl asbestos tiles, epoxy and polyurethane resins, ceramic and quarry tiles. Due to its fast curing and drying properties, STOPGAP 1200 can be used in situations where time is tight offering a walk-on time of 60 minutes. It is also moisture tolerance and allows new floorcoverings to be installed from just 4 hours.
