STOPGAP 1400 is a two-component, high flow smoothing compound designed for high-quality preparation of internal subfloors, prior to the installation of new floorcoverings. Flooring contractors use STOPGAP 1400 to create a smooth surface over a wide range of subfloor types. This includes concrete, sand/cement screed, and STOPGAP waterproof surface membranes.
Designed specially to maximise ease-of-use, this high flow smoothing compound has a walk-on-hard time of just 90 minutes and is ready to receive most floorcoverings from 12 hours. This benefits flooring contractors allowing them to complete projects quickly and efficiently with minimal downtime.
Its low-odour, protein-free formulation allows use in biologically sensitive areas, such as hospitals, and where adjacent areas remain open. It is also suitable for use over normal underfloor heating systems ensuring versatility for new builds and renovations.
STOPGAP 1400 maintains dimensional stability to ensure long-lasting performance. It comes as a pre-blended, dry powder that you mix with our STOPGAP 1400 Liquid. It can be easily applied between 2 – 10mm.
A 20kg bag of STOPGAP 1400 powder mixed with 4.5 litres of STOPGAP 1400 Liquid will cover an area of approximately 5.9m2 at a thickness of 2mm.

Stopgap 1400 Gauging Liquid
STOPGAP 1400 Liquid is the Gauging Liquid for STOPGAP 1400 in order to make a high flowing, two-component smoothing compound suitable for preparing sound internal subfloors prior to the installation of new floorcoverings.
Must be mixed with Stopgap 1400 Powder.
STOPGAP 1400 AREAS OF USE
STOPGAP 1400 is suitable for use over a wide range of subfloor types including sand/cement screed, concrete, calcium sulphate (e.g. anhydrite), minimal adhesive residues, sound asphalt, granolithic, terrazzo, epoxy and polyurethane resins, ceramic and quarry tiles and STOPGAP waterproof surface membranes.
STOPGAP 1400 is dimensionally stable and is supplied as a pre-blended dry powder and
STOPGAP 1400 Liquid</a> which is designed for application between 2 – 10mm.
