STOPGAP 1600 is a fibre-reinforced smoothing compound designed for refurbishing new and existing internal floors in both domestic and commercial environments. It prepares subfloors prior to the installation of new floorcoverings with fast-drying properties.<\/p>\n
Flooring contractors can use STOPGAP 1600 over a wide range of subfloor types including concrete, sand\/cement screeds, and STOPGAP waterproof surface membranes. It is also suitable for use over both electrical and water-fed underfloor heating and cooling systems. When applied at 3-5mm thickness, this fast drying smoothing compound is ready to receive floorcoverings in as little as 12 hours, and has a walk-on-hard time from just 3 hours.<\/p>\n
Our fibre-reinforced smoothing compound is dimensionally stable, ensuring long-lasting performance. It comes as a pre-blended dry powder, requiring only the addition of water, and users can apply it between 3mm to 40mm in one application. To save further time, floor fitters can pump apply it up to 900m2<\/sup> per day, dependent upon thickness applied and equipment used.<\/p>\n Its low odour, protein-free formulation allows use biologically sensitive areas, such as hospitals, as well as where adjacent areas remain open. As a water-mix smoothing compound, no bottle is required, resulting in less plastic waste being produced by the flooring industry.<\/p>\n
