Product focus: Stopgap Fill and Prime

In the latest in our series of product spotlights, we take a look at Stopgap Fill and Prime.

What is it?

Stopgpap Fill and Prime is a two-component, fast drying flexible cement-based primer.

Where is it used?

It has been designed to have a thixotropic consistency, which enables joints between raised access panels and some wood substrates, such as flooring grade plywood, chipboard, MDF and OSB, to be filled leaving a smooth and ready-primed surface prior to the direct application of either Stopgap 700 Superflex for wood substrates or Stopgap 1200 Pro for raised access panels.

What’s different about it?

When applied up to a thickness of 1mm, Stopgap Fill and Prime sets rapidly and is ready to receive foot traffic in as little as 60 minutes. Once cured, the flexible nature of the product will accommodate movement within the substrate.

Something you might not know about the product:

Stopgap Fill and Prime is also suitable for use over well-bonded, waterproof adhesive residues on the above substrates and offers exceptional adhesion to a wide range of other subfloor types including Stopgap waterproof surface membranes, sand/cement screed, concrete, sound asphalt, granolithic, terrazzo, epoxy and polyurethane resins, ceramic and quarry tiles.
