Self confessed quiz fanatic Laura, who lives in Stoke-on-Trent, earned an impressive £4,000 in her solo round and made it safely through to the final chase. Her team played for a total prize of £17,000, but unfortunately were caught by Chaser Paul Sinha (aka ‘The Sinnerman’) with time to spare.
Laura said: “I’m a big fan of quiz programmes so I applied online and was invited for an audition last summer, after which I was accepted as a contestant. The episode was actually filmed in October 2017, but the airing of the new series was delayed because of the World Cup!
“Even though we came home empty-handed, I had such a blast on the show. We were very well looked after and had everything provided for us: hotel accommodation, food, travel expenses. Bradley Walsh is just as lovely as he appears on TV!”
And would she recommend her experience? “Definitely, you have nothing to lose! If you’re one of those people like me who likes to shout answers at the TV, then you definitely should give it a go.”
