Product Focus: Styccobond F44 Acrylic Adhesive

In the latest in our series of product spotlights, we take a look at Styccobond F44 Acrylic Adhesive.

What is it?

Styccobond F44 is a solvent-free acrylic adhesive, which delivers high bond strength and strong initial tack, so it can be used for installing vinyl sheet and tile floorcoverings, as well as PVC-backed carpets and rubber. It is protected against bio-degradation and has a long open-time, making it suitable for installing larger areas of flooring.

Where is it used?

Styccobond F44 can be directly applied to a variety of absorbent and non-absorbent surfaces, including Stopgap smoothing underlayments, structurally sound, smooth, dry subfloors of concrete and sand/cement screed, plywood, flooring grade chipboard and hardboard. It is suitable for use over normal underfloor heating installations and can withstand wet cleaning techniques.

Styccobond F44 is applied by trowel, but to avoid shadowing the adhesive should then be rolled immediately with a pre-coated paint roller to create a smooth, even appearance.

Styccobond F44 is an extremely versatile adhesive, and is suitable for use with a wide range of floorcoverings. As a result, it boasts the highest number of compatibility recommendations with resilient floorcoverings in the Recommended Adhesives Guide.
