Project of the Month: CFJ/CFA Award Winner

Winning this year's CFJ/CFA Project of the Year Award, how Brajeff Flooring created an impressive, cutting-edge finish at a stylish software house in Middlesex.

Every month, we look at all of the jobs going on around the country, and pick one that we think has made the best use of our products. This month, we take a look at Brajeff Flooring’s award-winning work at a stylish software house in Middlesex.

Solid foundation
The software house wanted to create visually striking reception areas and demonstration suites that were in line with the high-tech nature of their work. Contractors installed raised access panels across the site and overlaid them with 12mm plywood, screwed and fixed securely to the subfloor.

The plywood was then primed with Stopgap P131 Primer, before a 3mm coat of Stopgap 700 Superflex smoothing underlayment was applied. Stopgap 500 Micro floor finishing compound was then applied to a feathered edge to fill the joints between the newly applied Stopgap 700 and an adjacent, sound plywood subfloor.

A stunning finish
Contractors then cut Noraplan Uni 2mm rubber sheet into custom shaped tiles, and adhered them to the reception area subfloor in a pattern using Styccobond F61 heavy-duty contact adhesive. The reception area pattern continued up a ribbon-shaped vertical feature inset with computer monitors used to display software to visitors and clients.

The end result is an impressive, cutting-edge reception area with an imperceptible transition between graphic display monitors and luxury floorcoverings, which has definitely earned its title of Project of the Month.
