CFJ Live Expo review

CFJ Live Expo, which took place at the beginning of July, offered the F. Ball team the opportunity to host an online ‘virtual’ exhibition booth as part of the online experiential event.

Organised by leading industry magazine, Contract Flooring Journal, the show was attended by around 50 exhibitors, including manufacturing companies and product suppliers, who welcomed hundreds of virtual visitors to their booths throughout the day.

F. Ball used the opportunity to broadcast from the company’s newly redesigned and refurbished Centre of Excellence training facility, providing the first public unveiling of the centre, following the successful completion of a number of discrete training courses in the run up to its official launch.

Expo visitors were treated to product demonstrations conducted by F. Ball’s technical team, including the company’s all new Stopgap Micro Rapid floor finishing compound. This was complemented by demonstrations of Stopgap F77 waterproof surface membrane, Styccobond F49 Hybrid PS temperature tolerant adhesive and Styccobond F46 pressure sensitive acrylic vinyl adhesive, and levelling compounds Stopgap Fast Track 30 and Stopgap 1200 Pro.

The demonstrations were interspersed with technical Q&As on topics such as subfloor types, moisture testing and management, the importance of priming, levelling compound selection and adhesives.

Along the way, the technical team used the opportunity to dispel some longstanding flooring myths, sort truth from fiction, and present the quickest and easiest ways of achieving the best flooring finish possible.

And there was just time for a behind the scenes look at what goes into creating F. Ball’s renowned Recommended Adhesives Guide (RAG®).

Expo visitors were also invited to enter hourly competitions to win prizes of an F. Ball ‘toolkit’ and a final prize draw, which saw flooring contractor and attendee Lee Hunt bag a toolkit, plus a £100 Amazon voucher.
