F. Ball Chairman receives BASA Max Kochmann Award

James Igoe, Chairman of F. Ball, has been awarded the prestigious Max Kochmann Award by the British Adhesives and Sealants Association (BASA).

The accolade, named in memory of one of BASA’s founding members and former life president, is awarded each year to an individual or company that has made an outstanding and sustained contribution to the association.

BASA is one of the leading national association members of FEICA (European Adhesive and Sealant Industry). James was nominated by BASA to serve as one of the three representatives on FEICA’s European Executive Board (EEB); the governing body of FEICA, which ensures effective governance and leadership of FEICA.

James previously held the position of BASA Chairman from 2010-2012. As Chairman, he represented the interests of the UK and Ireland adhesives and sealants industry and was responsible for setting and reviewing BASA policy, strategy and objectives with the BASA council.

Over the years, James has sat on many standards committees, which have been involved in consultation with government on industry matters and regulation and was Managing Director of F. Ball for 13 years until 2016 when he took over as Chairman of the company, following the retirement of Geoffrey Ball.
