F. Ball Technical Director wins BASA award

F. Ball’s Technical Director, Neil Sanders, has been awarded with BASA's prestigious Max Kochmann Award.

Neil Sanders, Technical Director at F. Ball, has been awarded the prestigious Max Kochmann Award by the British Adhesives and Sealants Association (BASA).

The award, named in memory of one of BASA’s founding members and former life president, is awarded each year to an individual or company that has made an outstanding and sustained contribution to the affairs of the association.

In his acceptance speech, Neil expressed his gratitude for being selected for the award: “It is indeed an honour and privilege to receive the Max Kochmann award following such an acclaimed list of past recipients, and to be given this award for the small part I have played within BASA.”

He then commented on the role of BASA in promoting the interests of the flooring industry: “I have always believed in standing up for the interests of the British flooring industry, and I believe BASA does indeed punch above its weight when it comes to representing our industry, both in the UK and Europe, and I for one am proud to be a part of that.

“The future of BASA remains with companies that allow their employees the time to get involved in the working groups and the activities of BASA.”

Jim Palmer, Technical Officer for BASA who presented the award, commended Neil on his tireless work for BASA: “Neil joined his current employer in 2003, which is when I first met him and experienced his involvement and commitment to the work of BASA. He is currently the long-serving chairman of the Building Adhesives Working Group, one of the association’s (BASA’s) most active working groups. He also represents BASA on BSI and CEN committees, and has recently taken on the role of Vice Chairman of the FEICA Construction Technical Working Group.”
