Styccobond F46 high performance pressure sensitive acrylic adhesive.

Shining the spotlight on some of our most popular products, here we take a look at high performance pressure sensitive acrylic adhesive, Styccobond F46.

What is it?
Styccobond F46 is a pressure sensitive acrylic adhesive that dries to a permanent tack.

What’s different about it?
It has an extended open time reducing the risk of late placement and making it ideal for installing more complex designs and patterns. It can also be rolled following trowel application to reduce the incidence of trowel serrations shadowing through thin vinyl flooring and is designed to give strong initial tack and high bond strength, which increases as it is trafficked.

Where is it used?
Styccobond F46 is used for securing vinyl, PVC sheet and tile floorcoverings to Stopgap smoothing underlayments, concrete and sand/cement screeds, plywood, flooring grade chipboard and hardboard. An important feature of this adhesive is its ability to facilitate the installation of impervious floorcoverings, such as vinyl, directly onto non-absorbent surfaces, including epoxy waterproof surface membranes.

Why was it introduced?
With the increasing popularity of complex patterned floors, particularly in vinyl finishes, Styccobond F46 was introduced to overcome the common problem of late placement of floorcoverings, allowing contractors more time to install complicated and more time consuming patterns. It also met a need of reducing the incidence of trowel serrations shadowing through thin vinyl flooring to provide a more aesthetically pleasing finish.

Something you might not know about the product
It has been tested to the standards of the International Maritime Organisation and approved for use in marine floor installations.
