What are they?
Stopgap 400 is a fast setting, rapid drying compound for repairing internal floors prior to the application of Stopgap smoothing underlayments in light to heavy duty applications.
Stopgap 460 is a polymer modified, fast setting mortar for repairing external floors prior to the application of Stopgap 850 or for use in internal applications under Stopgap waterproof surface membranes. It has been specifically designed for use in damp conditions and has excellent freeze / thaw resistance when used in external environments.
Where are they used?
Stopgap 400 can be used on stairs, steps and general repairs to cracks and holes. It is suitable for use over a wide range of subfloor types including sand/ cement screed, concrete, sound asphalt, granolithic, terrazzo, epoxy and polyurethane resins, ceramic and quarry tiles and Stopgap waterproof surface membranes.
Stopgap 460 can be used for the non-structural repair of lower strength concrete elements such as floor screeds, concrete paving slabs, balcony edges, stair treads and risers and is also suitable for producing gradients for ramps. It is suitable for use with sand/cement screeds and concrete and under Stopgap waterproof surface membranes.
Something you might not know about the products:
The initial set time of Stopgap 400 is approximately 15 to 25 minutes and should be sufficiently hard to walk on in about 30 minutes under good conditions.
The initial set time of Stopgap 460 is approximately 60 minutes at 20°C and can accept light foot traffic after this time.
What’s different about them?
Stopgap 400 is designed specifically for repairing internal floors, whilst Stopgap 460 is for repairing external floors.
