Project of the month

Find out how Dutch contractors, Vloerenbedrifj Hanic BV, created a stunning, unique finish at the LinkedIn Dutch Headquarters in Amsterdam.

Every month, we take a look at the jobs around the world that have used F. Ball products, and pick one that we think made best use of them. This month, we feature a job by Dutch contractors, Vloerenbedrijf Hanic BV, who refurbished the flooring in the LinkedIn Dutch Headquarters in Amsterdam.

A versatile choice
The guys at Vloerenbedrijf BV were called in to the LinkedIn offices as the site underwent a major refurbishment project. Each area of the tower block, in which the headquarters are located, was decorated differently and, according to the contractors, it was this that encouraged them to look to F. Ball for help.

Erwin van Hagen from Vloerenbedrifj BV said: “For such a prestigious and well-known company, we knew that we needed to use flooring products that we could rely upon to deliver the best results. F. Ball had the solution for every different area of the tower block and every floorcovering that we worked with.”

Preparing the subfloor
Once the old floorcoverings had been removed, contractors mechanically prepared the subfloor and carried out a moisture test. The floor was dry enough to go ahead with the installation, so the next step was to prime areas of raised access flooring with Stopgap 131 General Purpose Primer. Stopgap 121 Acrylic Primer was also used to prepare the remaining anhydrite (calcium sulphate) subfloors.

Flexible and smooth
They then used Stopgap 700 Superflex fibre reinforced smoothing underlayment over the areas of raised access panels, and a coat of Stopgap 300 HD heavy-duty smoothing underlayment was over the remaining anhydrite subfloors.

Finishing touches
Once the underlayments had set and dried, contractors used Styccobond F3 to secure the custom printed floorcoverings that had been designed specifically for LinkedIn. Styccobond F44 was used to adhere Bolon PVC sheet floorcoverings in the kitchen and bathroom areas, and Styccobond F41 was used to install Interface carpet tiles in the office areas.

A result worth a ‘Like’
The contractors from Vloerenbedridf BV knew the benefits of using products that were perfect for each area of the building, and the result is a truly stunning, eye-catching office space that definitely deserves to be the June Project of the Month.
