The Premium LVT Installation Range is made up of Stopgap 300 HD and pressure sensitive and temperature tolerant adhesives from F. Ball’s System LVT Range, which comprises subfloor preparation products and adhesives that, used in combination, guarantee optimum results when installing LVTs, assisting flooring contractors with product selection.
Stopgap 300 HD
To create the perfect base for the installation of thin resilient floorcoverings, including luxury vinyl tiles (LVTs) and planks, F. Ball recommends the application of its Stopgap 300 HD fast-drying, heavy-duty levelling compound for its high compressive strength and excellent self-levelling properties.
It is suitable for use over a wide range of absorbent and non-absorbent subfloor types, including sand/cement screed, concrete, granolithic, terrazzo, epoxy and polyurethane resins, ceramic and quarry tiles and Stopgap waterproof surface membranes. Its protein-free formulation allows it to be used in biologically sensitive areas, such as hospitals.
Styccobond F46
The instant grab and extended open time of Styccobond F46 adhesive makes it ideal for the installation of LVTs. The product is a solvent-free pressure sensitive acrylic adhesive that dries to a permanent tack and is used for securing vinyl, PVC sheet and tile floorcoverings to Stopgap levelling compounds, concrete and sand/cement screeds, plywood, flooring grade chipboard and hardboard.
An important feature of Styccobond F46 is its ability to facilitate the installation of impervious floorcoverings, such as vinyl, directly onto non-absorbent surfaces, including epoxy waterproof surface membranes. It can also be rolled following trowel application to reduce the incidence of trowel serrations shadowing through thin vinyl flooring.
Styccobond F48 PLUS
Extreme temperature fluctuations will cause vinyl floorcoverings to expand and contract significantly. Over time, this can lead to unsightly tenting and gapping at the edges of LVTs. Temperature tolerant adhesives have been developed for installing floorcoverings in areas exposed to temperatures.
F. Ball’s Styccobond F48 PLUS is a fibre-reinforced, high temperature grade adhesive for installing a range of vinyl floorcoverings. Fibres in Styccobond F48 PLUS allow it to offer high initial grab to hold floorcoverings securely in place while contractors are working.It is also fast-drying, and as a one-part solution, there’s no mixing required before application.
Styccobond F49 Hybrid PS
F. Ball’s Styccobond F49 Hybrid PS is an example of a new breed of high-performance, hybrid adhesive, which combines temperature tolerance and pressure sensitive characteristics. The water-based adhesive has the familiar characteristics of a pressure sensitive adhesive and develops the extremely high bond strength required to hold vinyl floorcoverings firmly in place in areas exposed to extreme temperature fluctuations (from -20°C to +60°C). The properties of this adhesive also make it water resistant, meaning it is suitable for installing vinyl floorcoverings in damp and humid environments, including wet rooms.
